During the Covid Years I got really into live albums. A good live album captures an energy—a dynamism—that is lacking from all but the most exquisitely produced studio albums.
So I posed a question to the Farcaster community: if you like live albums, what is your favorite?
There were some great responses, and some great discussion. A playlist with all of the albums, and the albums themselves, are below in no particular order.
LCD Soundsystem, The Long Goodbye
Pearl Jam, MTV Unplugged
Nirvana, MTV Unplugged
Led Zeppelin, BBC Sessions
Bleachers, Live at Electric Lady
Counting Crows, Across A Wire
My Morning Jacket, Live Vol 2
Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Weld
Jimmy Hendrix, Live at Woodstock
Johnny Cash, At Folsom Prison
Bob Marley, Live
Daft Punk, Alive 2007
Dave Matthews, Live at Red Rocks
Carl Cox @ Space
The Band, The Last Waltz
Talking Heads, Stop Making Sense
Tyler Childers, Live on Red Barn Radio
